Right now in Indonesia children have been forced to drop out of school because ICTSI – one of the world's most profitable stevedoring companies – is targeting their parents for joining the union.
ICTSI is systematically undermining the wages and conditions at the waterfront in Jakarta, forcing workers into long, unsafe overtime simply to earn a living wage. FBTPI union members have been denied overtime by the company, and many are now unable to meet their basic expenses, resulting in workers taking children out of school and being evicted from their homes. ICTSI is punishing these workers for standing up.
Every child should go to school. Every worker deserves to live with dignity.
Join the campaign to ensure no child should be punished because their parent is standing up for their rights.
ICTSI's pattern of paying poverty wages and discrimination against unions and their members has to stop.
Please join our email campaign and tell ICTSI to immediately end the targeting of FBTPI union members and to settle a collective agreement with your workers that guarantees them a fair wage – without having to work excessive overtime – so their families can live with dignity and their children can go back to school.
